CORONATION Street won best soap in a live public vote at the National Television Awards last night.
The ITV1 show, starring Kym Marsh, beat EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.X Factor winner Joe McElderry presented the award to veteran actor Bill Roach, who plays Ken Barlow.
Bill said: “Thank you so much. We might be 50 years old but we have a heartbeat like a cannon.”
EastEnders had won the award for the previous four years.

That was the BIGGEST shock of the night. Everyone in the arena were screaming for Enders or Hollyoaks… then when they said Corrie, it was like what?!! lol. Shocking.
